Cleaning Solution 1831 for Removal of Grime, Scale, and Oxides from Metals

1831 Ultrasonic Cleaning Solution Concentrate

Presenting our 1831 Concentrate: a mild, organic acid product which safely and efficiently removes grim, scale, and oxides from ferrous and nonferrous metals, resulting in a deep reflective finish.  Formulated for use in ultrasonic cleaning systems, 1831 not only removes corrosion, but it helps preventing parts from corroding after cleaning.

The days of using strong, hazardous, and corrosive inorganic acid cleaners are gone with the introduction of 1831 Cleaning Concentrate.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Appearance: Orange Liquid
pH @ 1% solution: 4.8
Odor: Mild
Foaming action: Controlled
Solubility in water: Complete
Rinsing action: Excellent
Metal Safety: All Metals

USAGE & DILUTION RECOMMENDATIONS
For stripping metal oxides from parts in soak tanks or ultrasonic cleaning applications, use 9 ounces per gallon of water (7% solutions). Concentrations higher than 7% will not work more efficiently.  Solution temperature should be maintained between 130° F and 140° F. We recommend the use of a quality ultrasonic unit for highest efficiency. Rust and scale can normally be removed in 30 seconds to 2 minutes. The same concentrations may be used for passivation of stainless steel.

HANDLING & STORAGE
This product does not pose any fire hazards. Use good industrial hygiene practices such as wearing rubber gloves and an impermeable apron to protect sensitive skin. Chemical safety goggles should be worn to protect eyes. If eye contact occurs, flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and consult a physician. In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water, removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Keep product containers tightly closed when not in use. Store in the original container between 45° and 85°F. When stored as above, shelf life is a minimum of 2 years.

Refer to our Material Safety Data Sheet for additional information.
